Costa Rica Pick S223 Specimen 5 Pesos 1887, PMG Choice Uncirculated 64 EPQ. El Banco De La Union, San Jose, 1 July 1887. Crisp and extremely well centered antique banknote, with an amazingly bright obverse, and sharp corners. There is a very little bit of what appears to be minor offset on the reverse, which we mention only because we feel that otherwise this note is easily at least a 65. PMG only states Exceptional Paper Quality. PMG population report shows only one graded higher. The PMG price guide shows $3,250.00 for a 60 grade.
